Beverly no longer has a DEI director. City Council voted 5-4 to eliminate the position. We're rallying folks to join us at the City Council meeting on September 21, filling all the comment public slots and the chamber seats.

The Beverly Police Department has 4 Flock cameras throughout the city. While they've made some positive changes in how they use these automated license plate readeres, we're calling for stricter guardrails against this AI-powered mass surveillance.

During our August 22, 2026 meeting, we wrote 31 birthday cards to incarcerated people and collected 90 stamps to donate to the Abolitionist Mail Project.
A few of us from book club had a fun evening crafting together at the library's Bad Art Night on August 4, 2026.
On the tails of July 4th, we discussed The 1619 Project during our July 18, 2026 meeting. We walked to Historic Beverly to see their exhibit Set at Liberty (pictured above), which features the stories of enslaved people in Beverly.

During our April 19, 2026 meeting, we upcycled cardboard into postcards and wrote to our elected officials about issues we cared about. Congressional candidate Jamie Belsito also joined us.
We donated 23 pounds of period supplies to Beverly Bootstraps on March 30, 2026, all collected at our meeting a couple days earlier.
